About Helene

 
 

Helene became an independent consultant in 2010. Before that she worked as destination development manager for the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). She was based at Sea Space, the economic development company for Hastings and Bexhill, where she managed a comprehensive destination development programme for the wider area.


Previously, Helene was a senior consultant at PKF carrying out a wide range of tourism and hotel assignments in destinations as far flung as South Africa and Oman as well as Europe and in the United Kingdom.


Helene is a fellow of the Tourism Society as well as member of the British Association of Hotel Accountants and Tourism Concern.


While at SEEDA Helene became ISO14001 accredited internal environmental auditor. She has since qualified as a Green Globe and Travelife Sustainability auditor.


Helene graduated from  University of North London, United Kingdom and Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao, Spain in 1995 with an Erasmus Supported Double Award BA (Hons) Leisure and Tourism Management (upper second) and Diploma Postgrado de Especialización en Gestión Turistica.


Of Danish nationality, Helene is a UK resident with strong language skills and speaks Danish, English, Spanish, some German and French.


Helene lives in Hastings, England with her husband, daughter and dog.

 

Helene is a dynamic tourism, hospitality and economic development professional with over 15 years’ international experience gained in both the private and public sector. She has extensive knowledge and skills covering key issues ranging from hotel resort planning to strategy formulation and sustainability, to assessment of financial viability and enhancing destination competitiveness.
